Pumpkin Pie Green Smoothie Recipe

Labor day has come and gone, the unofficial end of summer is upon us. HOORAY! Don’t get me wrong, I love summer! My birthday is in June, it’s pretty much required that you love your birth month. The reason I’m so excited for the end of summer is because that means it is the beginning of fall. Fall is my favorite season of all. What’s not to love… layering, flannel, apple cider, hayrides, Halloween and of course pumpkin! I have been seeing pumpkin flavored things pop up all over the place and I could not resist but to jump on the band wagon.

For my pumpkin fix, today I made a Pumpkin Pie Green Smoothie! Such a delicious (and nutritious) way to start the day! I know the idea of drinking spinach for breakfast is a little weird at first, but I promise you can’t even taste it! Just give this a try and you are sure to be surprised. You will need all of the ingredients listed below and a blender. I am using this one from Oster. It’s really great at chopping up all the fruits and veggies I throw at it with ease.

Pumpkin Pie Green Smoothie

  • 1 1/2 cups milk (I used unsweetened almond coconut milk)
  • 2 Handfuls of spinach
  • 1 Frozen banana
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup oatmeal
  • 1 Tsp Pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 Tbsp chia seads (optional)
  • 3 Ice cubes
Combine all of the ingredients in your blender, with the frozen things sitting on top to weigh everything down. All that’s left to do is blend and enjoy!
