KISS InstaWave: Review & Demo

KISS InstaWave: Review & Demo

I love the look of my hair curled but I hate having to spend time actually curling it. When KISS offered to send me the InstaWave, I jumped at the chance to try it out! The InstaWave is a fully automatic tangle-free curler that instantly creates beautiful curls. It is supposed to be easy for anyone to use, from any angle and either hand. Another great feature is that the Curl Dial spins right or left, whichever you choose. This really helps to keeps the curls natural looking. The InstaWave can also be set on low or high heat, low giving loose waves and high resulting in tighter ringlets. It has a maximum temperature of 420, so it can’t get TOO hot and burn your hair. If I’m rushing in the morning and forget to turn the InstaWave off, it will automatically shut off after 90 minutes. Perfect!
Right off the bat, I’m nervous about the whole spinning mechanism. Spinning plus long hair doesn’t usually mix. I’ve heard horror stories about similar hair tools that are enclosed rather than being open, like the InstaWave. I was pleasantly surprised that although my hair did get a little tangle-y, it worked it self out and turned out well!

 Now for the demo:

Hold InstaWave vertically against a 1-2″ piece of hair

Touch the Curl Dial either left or right, and the InstaWave instantly and automatically catches and curls the hair. Hold for 5-10 seconds, hold longer for tighter curls and less for beachy waves.

Pull the InstaWave down vertically, letting hair out

Final Result!

I’m so pleased with how my hair turned out! The InstaWave was easy to use and didn’t take a long time to curl all of my hair. The curls are soft and really pretty. I think it would be a great look for everyday or a special event. The InstaWave can be found at and is available for purchase at Target, Ulta and Amazon.

Do you have a favorite specialty hair tool or perhaps a least favorite?
