Usually before buying anything, I’ll try to look online for a review. I find this really helps to reduce the number of dud products that I impulse buy. Sometimes though, I either forget to look up a review or perhaps the product isn’t bad per se, but it just doesn’t work for me. Below are some products that I really regret buying.
Ulta Ultimate Red Color Restoring Glaze – This is my least favorite product of the bunch. In theory, this color glaze sounded great. I had always been curious about color depositing products and this one was fairly inexpensive. I have naturally red hair but dye it a darker red in the fall. I tried this glaze a few weeks after dying my hair and was so disappointed! It was so runny that it was difficult to get any of it to stay in my hair. What wasn’t going into my hair was all over my hands and shoulders, straining them a dark red! This product is an absolute disaster.
Garnier BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin (Light/Medium) – I had heard good things about this formula, so many people gave it rave reviews. I thought it would be perfect for summer, especially because it has SPF 20. I was wrong, it was definitely not the BB cream for me. I am quite pale but this oxidized so badly, I looked like an oompa loompa! It also left my really oily and shiny. I used this once and meant to take it back but forgot. Lesson learned!
Maybelline Baby Skin – There was so much hype about this face primer, I needed to give it a try. I wouldn’t say that it is a bad product but it’s just kind of meh. I don’t notice it “erasing” my pores or helping my makeup stay on any longer. It really just seems like an extra, unnecessary step. PASS!
The Body Shop Honeymania Lip Balm – This lip balm is also another one of those products that aren’t terrible, but it is really nothing special. It reminds me of the lip balm pots I would buy at the dollar store when I was younger. It even smells the same to me! It really doesn’t even moisturize all that well. So, as a lip balm it’s fine but for me it is not worth the price.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Leather (Chocolate Suede) – I love Color Tattoos, I use one every single day! Bad to the Bronze and Creamy Beige are amazing, both as base colors or on their own. Chocolate Suede is a different story…it is not good. It’s shimmery like Bad to the Bronze but goes on dry and patchy. The color is really pretty but it is so frustrating to try and blend this in. Although this color was a dud, I will continue to purchase and love Color Tattoos!
